Who We Are – FUNDEPRODE
Our foremost commitment has been the unwavering defense of human rights in Costa Rican society—a mission we have pursued since December 2002, as clearly demonstrated by our track record. We have carried out decisive legal actions: we secured the first domestic violence asylum case in Latin America, won the international case of Cherry Lynn Tomayko, and drafted Law No. 9361, reforming the national criminal records system.
For this reason, FUNDEPRODE has evolved, because we understand that the world is undergoing one of the fastest transformation cycles in its history. New technologies are steering us toward a global society, flexible and digital methodological trends are emerging, jobs are being redefined, social customs of coexistence and interaction are transforming, and perceptions of value are being reinvented. Today’s top public policy priorities were not even considered two decades ago.
In response, we have moved beyond the traditional model to become a Specialized Technical Entity for Human Rights Due Diligence and Risk Management, serving both the public and private sectors. Our mission is now technical: to demonstrate that respect for human dignity is the only path to economic sustainability and political governability under the demands of the 21st century.
