Who We Are – Fundeprode
Our foremost commitment has been the tireless defense of human rights in Costa Rican society—a mission we have upheld since December 2002, as demonstrated by our track record. We have executed impactful legal actions, including securing the first domestic violence asylum in Latin America, winning the international case of Cherry Lynn Tomayko, and drafting Law No. 9361, which reformed the country’s criminal records system.
This is precisely why FUNDEPRODE has evolved, because we recognize that the world is undergoing one of the fastest transformation cycles in its history. New technologies are leading us toward a global society, flexible and digital methodological trends are reshaping the workforce, social customs of coexistence and interaction are transforming, and perceptions of value are being reinvented. Issues that are today top priorities for public policy were not even considered two decades ago.
In light of this, we have moved beyond the traditional model to become a Specialized Technical Advisory Entity in Human Rights Due Diligence and Risk Management, serving both the public and private sectors. Our mission is now technical: to demonstrate that respect for human dignity is the only path toward economic sustainability and political governance in the context of 21st-century demands.
Our Mission
"To drive sustainable social development through the implementation of high-impact projects, funded and empowered by the innovation and consulting services of our own advisory practice."
Our Vision
"To be Costa Rica’s leading foundation through our self-sustaining and transparent model, proving that social profitability and business efficiency can coexist to generate systemic and lasting change."
